Terms of use

Editors of TheChinaCompanion (henceforth: TCC) are keenly aware of their responsibilities in ensuring that users' personal data are handled in the most proper manner. We hereby wish to clarify the ways in which we collect, store, and use personal information in offering our services. It is important to state clearly from the very beginning that we do not share any personal information with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.

Registration

In order to access the TCC website, first-time users are requested to complete a registration form, creating a username and password. During registration they are required to indicate an email address. We will not use such email address for any kind of communication in the absence of specific consent on part of the user (e.g. in case the user signs up for a newsletter service).

Access to and removal of personal information

You may correct/delete your personal information e-mailing Ray Hervandi at the following email address: tcc[at]twai.it, or by contacting TheChinaCompanion staff via post.

Newsletters and other products

Should a user subscribe to any of our electronic newsletter(s) or wish to receive other materials, we will use the e-mail address provided to communicate with them. We always provide a way to unsubscribe.

Log files and cookies

TCC staff may use these pieces of information (log files, IP addresses, ISP, browser type, operating system, date/time, etc.), which by themselves do not identify individual users, to analyze trends, administer the website, track users' movements around the website, and gather demographic information about our users base as a whole.

We save cookies with information enabling users' authentication; we use Google services for the sign-up procedure (ReCaptcha) and to monitor activity on the website (Analytics).

Legal disclaimer

We reserve the right to disclose users' personal details as required by the Italian law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding.

The TCC website contains links to other websites that are not owned or controlled by TCC editors. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such other websites.
